Well there is probably no way any of you guys don’t already know this because it has been all over my social media but.....I AM UP FOR AN AWARD!! I have been nominated in the Best Blogger/Vlogger of the year category in the Official Makeup Awards 2018. You will see below the incredible talent that is in my category. My favourite girl and huge inspiration Youtuber Jamie Genevieve. The incredibly talented makeup artist mmmmitchell who you may recognise from his recent collab with Nikkie Tutorials. Lastly, London based Makeup artist and Youtuber Makeup By Tammi.
I want to take this opportunity to thank my readers for all their support. As I have touched on previously this last 6 months have been the worst of my life with losing my beautiful mum, so the blog and my social media has taken a back seat so I could concentrate on my children. I am amazed that even though I have not been around my blog is still being read all over the world including the Netherlands, Germany, China, Vietnam and Austria to name but a few. To have your continued support was amazing but to find out you guys have also nominated me for this award just blows my mind. I couldn’t possibly be more grateful. I am also overwhelmed with your comments and private messages of congratulations you guys really are the best. I am obviously under no illusion that I will win but just to be nominated is incredible.
I would be lying if I didn’t admit that the very small amount of hate I have received since this nomination was announced hasn’t got to me. I’m not going to give the haters any attention but what I will say is, yes I know there are hundreds probably thousands of other Beauty Bloggers who would have deserved this nomination because they have been around much longer and have managed to put out much more content for you guys. This time last year I would have probably felt bad about this and not mentioned the nomination but I am not the person I was then. The last 6 months has changed me. Yes I might not have been a blogger long and I might not have the hundreds of thousands of followers the other amazing artists in my category, but do you know what? The content I have posted for you guys I have worked hard on without being paid a penny. I do this because I love Makeup and skincare and I love talking to you guys about it and giving recommendations. There isn’t a day that goes by I do not receive a message asking for my advice about products. The very few times I have received a product for free I have told you guys and given an honest review. If I was doing this just for free products I would be contacting brands and just accepting anything being sent. You would not believe the amount of products I have turned down reviewing because they were not Beauty related (sunglasses, handbags, household items).
Before I go, have you guys seen my new logo? I absolutely love it. I had such a specific idea of what I wanted and was determined it had to be perfect. I was so lucky the girl that created it for me (Logos by Leah) was very patient with me. The blog will soon be redesigned to incorporate the new logo so keep your eyes peeled for that.
